About the Exhibition
UK Photographer, Paul Dyer solo exhibition
Handheld Films' photographic story telling of India and Nepal is done with simplicity and focus, and is always about the people, often children.
Paul Dyer's 25 years as a writer and creative director, traveling Europe, the Pacific Rim, Hong Kong, West Indies, India and Nepal inform his take on photography. Handheld Film's "unique selling proposition", so to speak, is the story line.
A notable favorite of the artists and photographers at his solo was the boy who would be king. Photographed in Rajasthan, India, a most beautiful grey-eyed child stands close behind his mother's skirt, yet seems to capture everything for future reference through his outward, pensive gaze.
Look also for the striking street portrait, eye to eye, a magnificent head and face, rendered in sepia tones that bear witness to the sun and contrasts of India.
