About the Exhibition
Iwona Fido solo exhibition
Iwona Fido, a Polish-Canadian architect, educated in Warsaw, creates Fractal art under the artistic alias of "Fiery Fire". The complex, repetitive patterns of fractals are similar to those found in Nature, Music, and Math.
Iwona's creative tools are software programs: Apophysis, UltraFractal, Mandelbulb, Incendia, and Bryce. If you might imagine a silk kimono, flung open to the winds, see VeLLa, a rich, tea-stained and deep violet abstract, with strong diagonal lines and dramatic light.
A multi-media digital piece, Solaris, was inspired by the book of the same name by famous Polish science fiction author, Stanislaw Lem. The work blends a Mandelbulb 3D fractal with a manipulated nebula image, to create a mysterious alien landscape that looks strangely plausible.
